The troupe has found an obviously strange arrow. Coloured black, the arrow seems to be out of phase with time/space. By touch one can feel nothing strange, even though it seems to be made of some unnatural material.

The staff looks very sturdy, with some sort of runes inscribed from one end to the other. While the runes themselves don't seem to be nothing more than ornamental, Tobias commented on how the staff was resilient to damage, far superior to common staves.

Tobias can be recognized by his usual, almost white, training clothes and his shaved head. Very humble, he appears to be around 16 years old.\nHe seems to have dedicated all his life to some sort of buddism. Well built for his age, one can say that he has been training martial arts since ever. His presence is very calm and he talks slowly.\n\nIt is known that Tobias has a mentor which has been with him since a child, presuming his parents are absent, or dead.\n\nCaptain [[Tiago Freitas]] of the [[Wolf Guard]] commented on how Tobias was talented, and that he had a natural affinity towards inhuman habilities. \n\n

One of the oldest and greatest universities of the world, the Lusitan University of Social Sciences, Letters and Technology (ULCSLT) is located in Lisboa, between Campo Grande and Entrecampos (roughly occupies the space from FCUL to ISCTE).\n\nThe building last suffered major restorations in 1974, when one of its wings collapsed for no reason. Next to the main building are several minor supporting buildings, mostly dormitories, accomodating around 10000 students. In 1983 six new dorms were made, roughly doubling the original space.\n\nThe university has four levels, three of them above ground.

Studies Engenharia do ambiente on [[Universidade Lusitana]].\nLives on the university dormitory and is currently on his 2nd year.\nLikes gambling, bars and quantic physics.

I started the chronicle out of my love for horror stories, and even though it tends towards fantasy due to the nature of the game I will try not to forget the darkness inside all of us, and bring the best of it up.

Fernando is a well known professor on the university. He has lectioned dozens of classes and is a widely respected historian. He teached for over 30 decades and, in fact, lives on the university. He stopped lecturing almost 10 years ago, dedicating all his time to research.\nHe appears as an arrogant and gloomy character.\n\nWhile investigating Fernando, the group discovered that he is researching the obscure and occult, and in fact has something to hide. He has hundreds of books and notes over the matter, books in strange, unknown, languages. The group has had its reasons to suspect of some sort of cult related activity, but with no actual proof to back this.\n\nHe had in his possession a strange [[Sphere]], later discovered to have some occult properties.\n\nHe was last seen when he took [[Filipe]] and [[José]] as hostages in the lower [[Library]]. [[Ana]] was found by [[José]] on a room next to this one while trying to escape the professor. Eventually they overcame him with the help of [[Tiago]], but not without getting seriously wounded. He was questioned and later sent to the police.

One of the captains of the [[Wolf Guard]], he was one of the first the group have met in the city. He is a very loyal soldier, probably capable of trading his life for his mission. A very happy go lucky person, he is apparently fearless, or just very brave.\n\nHe wears standard armor for his class and favours a two-handed sword, which he demonstrated to master to some extent.\n\nRecently, the group found that he appears to have a terrifying fear of the living dead, as the troupe recently engaged with corpses raising from their graves on the local cemitery. Freitas has given no reason to why he is so afraid of undead, it can be supposed it was due to the shock.

The Wolf Guard are the kingdom's military. The name comes from the shields they carry, which have the reigns symbol, a white wolf.\n\nThe troupe, among others, has befriended with captain [[Tiago Freitas]].\n\nThey are currently under the vise of António "[[Facadas]]" Dias.\n\n

A small teachers room. It has a central desk with a computer and some drawers. While entering, on the left corner there is a table and some shelves full of books, and on the right corner there is a table with a chair, and more books. On the right corner behind the central desk there is a file cabinet. There are books everywhere.\n\n[[Professor Fernando]] seemed to pass a lot of time in this room.\n\nA strange [[Sphere]] was found here by the group and later stolen by [[José]].

Room shared by [[Tiago]] and [[Filipe]] at the campus. It is a somewhat simple room, with a bathroom and small closet.\n\nAfter her disappearence, [[Ana]] waited for them at the middle of room 1506 in a ghostly form.\n\nThe last time they were in the room its door and windows disappeared, leaving them in a completly locked cubicle for about 8 hours. Just like they vanished they came back, and they were able to escape but the door did not lead them where it was supposed to...\n\nAttempts to later return to the room were unsuccessful.

While looking like normal arrows, close investigation shows that some sort of ethereal flames surround its whole, and that by touching the arrow one can feel a little warmth.

Victor is a paranormal investigator for the [[Polícia Judiciária]]. He worked along with the group, trying to unravel the mystery of a series of disappearings that have been ocurring for almost as long as the university itself. He didn't actually help much, but did give some direction on the subject of ghosts and simmilar beings.\n\nHe hates to wake very early, which can be very frustrating due to his job. He often oversleeps which results in always being late.

Officers sent by the [[Polícia Judiciária]] to investigate [[Ana]]'s disappearence. António sometimes indulged on his rage, either that or the worst act of //Good Cop, Bad Cop// ever.

Not much is known of him. On his only appearence he was wearing a dark brown robe, tied with a rope around his waist, and was with his hood on. Even though the shadows covered it up, closer look would reveal a black mask on his face.\n\nHe had cast, the group was told, a spell that bound their actions to the kingdom's desire. If they do not fulfill the task within the time they were given a terrible death would fall upon them and their loved ones.

The library of the [[Universidade Lusitana]] is one of the greatest and most complete of the world. It is composed of two public levels, and its first floor, refered as //lower library//, is only accessible through the second. While the upper floor is somewhat modernized, according to the style of the building, the lower was completely restaured from the original plans.\n\n[[Ana]] was last seen by the public in the library, later kidnapped and killed in a room of the lower library. At least one of the tables on the library had a huge symbol carved on, which was considered a planification of the symbol on the [[Sphere]] by the group.

Age 21, Ana was a colleague of [[Tiago]], [[Filipe]] and [[José]] at the [[Universidade Lusitana]], sharing her course with the first two, though she was on the 3rd year.\n\nBorn in Porto, she currently lived with her parents in Vila Franca de Xira, where she usually went every weekend. During the week she lived in the campus of the UCI along with her roommate, Catarina.\n\nShe disappeared one week before christmas of 2005 on the 16th December, friday.\n\nAna was found, dead, on the 20th December, tuesday. Her body was completly dismembered, found by [[José]] in a small room in the lower [[Library]].\n\n\nAfter her disappearece, Ana made her presence felt a couple of times, mostly through dreams. For once, she appeared in the boys bedroom ([[1506]]) apparently as something as ghost.

The area around the university is mostly composed of green fields of grass, except for a reserved section dedicated to agricultural and environmental courses. One can find a couple of bush mazes and other treats lost within the gardens.\n\nDuring [[Ana]]'s disappearence the area immediatly behind the [[Library]] appeared as a terrifying and heavy forest, with huge trees that almost touched the skies. There was a constant, thick, haze that appeared only on the forest and seemed unaffected by wind.\n\nSomewhere within this forest was a tree that dwarfed all the others. The tree was often protected by ghostly wolves and crows, among other nightly creatures. The group was attacked by these beings a couple of times. First [[José]] and later [[Filipe]], unnable to escape the wolves' grasp, were jumped on by the animals and, for their surprise, they //entered// their bodies. After that, it seemed, the ones "infected" were unnable to leave the university campus without suffering extreme physical pain, as [[José]] painfully found out.\n\nThis forest appeared only at night and, as it was proven later, only to the group.

Born in Lisboa in the 28th of February of 1983, Filipe lived with his parents in Amadora until going to [[Universidade Lusitana]] in 2003.\n\nCurrently on the 2nd year of Engenharia do Ambiente, shares a room with [[Tiago]] in one of the university dormitories.\n\nFor hobbies, Filipe likes reading, listening to music, online and table gaming, and he can sometimes be found in one of the basketball courts on the campus. Most of all, he enjoys his times best when with his closest friends.\n\nHis music tastes can be found somewhere along the Harcore and Metal, and various kinds of Original Soundtracks.\n\n\nRegarding the strange events that have befallen the group, Filipe was a little apprehensive by [[Ana]]'s dissapearance. In fact, he even dreamed with her asking for help the night after she disappeared.\n\nIt was with shock that he knew that Ana was dead, during the [[Library]] incident with [[Professor Fernando]]. Despite his hate for the professor derived from the situation, he advised against the group killing him mainly because it would give \nthem even more trouble than they needed, and that was his //only// reason for doing it.\n\nDuring one of the group's nightly investigations of the [[Library]]'s backyard, Filipe was attacked by some kind of spectral wolf. Although no visible wounds discernible he felt damaged in some way. He was later renewed by the occult power of the [[Sphere]] that [[José]] had snatched way from [[Professor Fernando's Room]].\n\nIt was in his hands, in some dreamlike state, that the [[Sphere]] vanished, and with it went the windows and the door of room [[1506]].\n\nIn the new reality the group's living, after the reappearance of room [[1506]] door, wierdness and confusion sank in Filipe's mind for awhile, but an assessment of the situation led to an acceptance of his surrondings... for now. The journey back to \nthe campus can't be done all by themselves in the present state, so Filipe is letting himself go with the flow for the time being.\n\nAfter meeting the [[Wolf Guard]], Filipe, along with the rest of the group, were assigned some tasks, and joining them would be Captain [[Tiago Freitas]] and a partner. Filipe liked the Captain's spirit and intensity while on the missions, so that the sooner they be done with it, the better.\n\nBetween one mission and the next, the group met [[Facadas]], they would be master-of-arms. He was going to teach them all in their favorite weapons. Filipe noticed that Facadas seemed to be very proficient with small blades and asked to be mainly taught in that kind of weapon. For some reason, Facadas seemed to be pleased by this request.\n\nDuring the cemitery assignment, while intrigued by the fervorous Captain's reaction of fear when seeing the dead rising Filipe didn't think much of the case, since the current situation was //very// distressing by itself. It was during this fight that the group found the [[Fire Arrows]] and the [[Strange Arrow]], alongside with a dagger that Filipe kept for himself, and some other things.

José was born on the 30th of August of 1983, living the entirety of his youth in Benfica and later moving to Massamá with his parents. Recently he moved out to an apartment near [[Universidade Lusitana]] where he still resides to this very day.\n\nJosé has recently graduated in Computer Engineering specializing in computer networks, currently working as a freelancer and in one of the university's research groups as part of his Masters degree.\n\nJosé's hobbies include, reading, painting miniatures, playing soccer, volleyball and fencing. He also likes target practicing, although his sight is not what it used to be. His favorite type of music depends on what he's doing... while working José likes chill music , while playing games/doing whatever he prefers something with a bit more substance.\n\nWhen the uncanny events that occurred in the university took place, José felt himself being pulled deeper and deeper into a sort of lucid dream, where his every action seemed somehow induced by some unknown force.\n\nThe whirlwinding series of events, climaxing with the discovery of [[Ana]]'s slaughtered body, were a shock to José as much as to any other in the group. His actions hence forth were driven more by rage than by reasoning, ultimately leading to him being the victim of an unknown soul in the shape of a ghostly wolf, who cursed him to remain near the university compound under pain of death.\n\nAfter that, José remembers little of what happened in between, his memory fading deeper in a fog of mysteries and artifacts, and a travel to a place... not of this world.\n\nWhat happened next is already told in [[Filipe]]'s narration of the story, up until the battle in the cemetery.

The initial troupe is a group of four real-life friends.\nI asked the players to create and initially play their "characters" as if they were themselves. I chose this path so they could relate easier to a normal, everyday, human life. This way, I think, the supernatural would be more of a shock, and repercussions could have a more serious impact. They may get their relatives injured in their course of actions, which they can relate to the real world and, so, give their characters more thought. That's the horror of it, thinking that some things of the chronicle could indeed happen.\n\nWith time, their characters evolve in a different way that they do in their real lives, and only then does the true roleplay start. Will they completely change their personalities with their ongoing experiences? Will power corrupt? Will they remain faithful to their beings in the face of terror?\n\nMy chronicle, I hope, will amuse and test them. A [[World of Darkness|http://www.worldofdarkness.com]] wiki, based on the chronicle known as The Call of Darkness.\nLoosely inspired on H.P. Lovecraft's work, the chronicle tells the story of a group of friends who suddenly witness the supernatural. Overwhelmed by their initial experience, their complete unawareness of the darkness of their world, the troupe now tries to overcome their difficulties and survive in a world very much unknown to them.\n\nThe story was designed for two chronicles, and possibly a third or just a postlude depending on the players actions.\n\nThe players are currently on the beginning of the first chronicle, after playing a small prelude.\n\n\nThe story is composed of the following chronicles:\n*Hymn of Absolute Deceit (Arcana) - Prelude\n*The Angel in the Garden (Elend)\n*Anger and Retribution (Underworld OST) - Interlude\n*The Luciferian Revolution (Elend)\n*Manipulated Living (Donnie Darko OST)

The Polícia Judiciária (PJ) is the central organ of criminal investigation in Portugal. Its goal is to combat major criminality, like organized crime, terrorism, drug traffic, corruption and economical and financial crimes. Recently it opened a wing dedicated to paranormal investigation, associated with other european forces. The Polícia Judiciária is integrated on the Ministry of Justice, acting under the guidence of the Public Ministry.

Seems to be some sort of blade weapons master for the [[Wolf Guard]]. He often wears what it seems to be his war outfit, a simple dark leather armor. He carries two curved blades on his waist and several smaller blades throughout his body.\nCasually, he talks on a somewhat maniacal way but on a very balanced, //sane//, way. While on his job he is focused, simple and direct.\n\nWhen the group met him they immediatly thought of him as some kind of assassin.

The sphere was found at [[Professor Fernando's Room]], in his desk. While unsure of what it actually is, the group has found something about it. They read about it, seen pictures of its symbol, and even dreamt about it. By clever investigation they discovered it had some magical-like abilities and were able to activate them.\n\nApparently if one's will is focused enough, and the rite is done right, it can heal the human body for some considerable amount, relieving the caster of some physical punishment.\n\nThe sphere is very simmilar to a crystal ball, except for having a strange polygon inside, with yet another sphere inside, black. The polygon doesn't ever change its relative position to the earth, very much like a compass.\n\nWhile active, the black sphere changes colour, to almost white, and emits some light. The polygon starts rotating in an apparent random form.\n\n\nThe sphere is currently missing since it disappeared along with the door and windows of room [[1506]].

*[[The Car Incident]]

On the night of [[Ana]]'s disappearence, after leaving the coffee shop, [[Artur]]'s Audi was almost hit by a car at a crossroad on their way home. The car stopped and [[Artur]], angered by the driver's lack of sense, immediatly stopped his car too while waiting for some reaction.\n\nTwo guys got outside of the car and went for the Audi, which made [[Artur]] and [[Tiago]] to readily get outside too.
